"The Greatest Moment in the History of American Sports..."
...the commentator of the Nathan's Hot Dog Contest proclaimed from Coney Island, NY today. Joey Chestnut has brought the title back to the United States after being owned by foreigners for nine years, six by Kobayashi. Chestnut ate 66 hot dogs and buns in twelve minutes, shattering the old Nathan's record of 53 3/4 hot dogs, set by Kobayashi, and setting a new world record.
"The Mustard Belt is back in America. It's just an emotional win, a great day for America," the announcers say as they wrap up the presentation.
I found myself yelling at the TV while watching the competition. I wanted the Mustard Belt to come back to our country. A great day for America, indeed.
