Why NOT to be a Florida fan, Part III

As an avid wearer of seersucker and an owner of bowties, I think that I can speak for everyone here: This might be the worst thing I have ever seen. He looks like a cross between Snoop and the Good Humor Man run through the supersize machine. Seriously, how big is his jacket, shirt, and bowtie? And the hair? Did he not know he'd be on national TV? Ridiculous. I knew that this picture would be on here as soon as I saw the title of the post. Kudos for ridiculing this. Some people can pull this look off and Noah is not one of them.

I just found this...sums it up pretty well.

"Good God! Is that Joakim Noah's music?! Joakim is clearly the fashion risk taker of the night. Is he crispy or a crispy fried mess?

Joakim is wearing a brown and white seersucker suit. The lapel has brown trim. I was hoping for Snoop like spiral curls. But Joakim sported soft waves. It looked good at 7:30. Now he looks like a light skinned Homey the Clown. And he has on huge brown shoes to complete the clown look.

And did I mention the paisley bow tie on the wrinkled shirt?

Joakim revealed that he uses Bumble and Bumble shampoo. I suggest that he try the conditioner.

At first, I liked this look. In part, I was relieved that he didn't show up in cargo shorts and Tevas. Otherwise, I generally appreciate fashion risk. This look amused me at 7:00. I'm over it now."

There is nothing about that picture, nor about the person on the right, that is not ridiculous.

I can't wait to see him get hammered in the NBA! I predict we will see some of the most ferocious blocks on him ever recorded on video. If you think we can't stand him, just think what the real men of the NBA think. He couldn't even sit up straight in the interview and look at the camera. What a spoiled brat.

The hatred of Florida is atrocious on this blog. I think having three of your basketball players getting picked for the first round pick of the draft is a great reason to be a Florida fan. In my opinion, Joakim Noah could've showed up to the draft in a speedo and I would still be proud of him. He helped to put Florida on the map. Being ridiculous helps Florida get more publicity..I say, the more ridiculous the better.

April, think of it as a compliment. Nobody hates Vanderbilt. Nobody hates Baylor.

It's a compliment.

If that helps you...

Last basketball season is over. KY WILL Beat FL this next basketball season in their first meeting AND I am offering up a friendly bet for my favorite FL fans - The Brunjes. I am betting a dinner for 4 at an Outback Steakhouse (Outback is owned by a UK graduate) that KY beats FL in their first game. Last year, in the first game - FL only won by 3. Are we on?

It's on like donkey kong!

April...FYI... I like my steak medium well. :)

I think that there should be another stipulation to the bet. I think the loser should have to wear the winner's team shirt to dinner. That would bring me great joy.

mwest: last basketball season is over but I would also like to remind Kentucky fans, and lets through Miami fans in there fun (goeppner), that the 90's are also over.

For Florida fans, it's a good thing the 90's are over (and the rest of the 20th century for that matter). The 2000's are all you've got.

1948, 1949, 1951, 1958, 1978, 1996, 1998

vs.

2006, 2007

Hope you enjoyed it while you had it. It was a cute little run, but it's come to an end. Florida will struggle to be the third best team in the SEC East this year.

We got the real Billy. I'm almost ashamed that I ever wanted the other one. It was blind ignorance. There is no keeping Kentucky down anymore, and the rest of the basketball world is scared.

"Florida? The Gators are in the SEC, which is about to become brutal again. The SEC's not the slumping giant it was four years ago when Donovan was amassing the talent that would win two straight NCAA championships. Underachieving Tubby Smith has left Kentucky, bequeathing one of the top jobs in basketball to Billy Gillispie -- who is going to win huge at Kentucky. He won't just win there, or win big there. Huge."

--Gregg Doyel, 6/7/07

"Billy Gillispie, Kentucky: Not just a home run, this was a walk-off grand slam. In all of college basketball, and this includes that cute little bugger down there at Florida, Gillispie was the perfect hire for Kentucky. By the time he's done running Louisville out of the state, the Cardinals will be getting their mail in Missouri."

Ouch!...Now that's perspective.
Justin, will you be joining us at Outbacks?

Do I get food too when we win?

I have no authority to weigh in on this subject, but if it were my call, absolutely.

It will be a Big Blue Feast. There will be flutes and trombones and flowers and garlands of fresh herbs. We will eat on the top of a mountain. And April and Mike, you won't be invited!

Mike West said...

There is most definitely a place at the table for UK fan extraordinaire and professional fan - Lyndsey Cornell along with her amateur yet desirous UK wanna-be super fan - Andrew. What a feast it will be as we are dressed with pride in UK attire!

Whoa, Whoa, Whoa, you guys...there is many bitter comments. You sound like a team that hasn't won a title in ten years.

J Dub said...

Nice grammar. Must be that Florida education.

Mike West said...

No bitterness at all....just friendly competition.
